Kornelia Kugler

Kornelia Kugler is a filmmaker, artist, and writer. She studied photography and audiovisual media in Vienna and art and media at the Berlin University of the Arts. Alongside her own artistic practice, she works as a freelance filmmaker, develops campaigns and communication concepts for organisations and institutions, organises events and exhibitions, and writes for various publications. A central concern of her practice is the development of collaborative and collective forms of production, including through her collective Systrar Productions.

Since 2018, a key focus of her commissioned work has been on anti-violence projects, accompanied by extensive professional training in this field. She has worked regularly with the bff Federal Association of Women’s Counselling Centres and Rape Crisis Hotlines and the Network of Brandenburg Women’s Shelters. Most recently, she developed an online tool on the prevention of sexualised violence at universities for the University of Göttingen. Know how – Working Together Against Sexualised Violence at the University was published at the end of 2025 and is now used across the university.

As a photographer, she has been producing independent and commissioned work since 2006, including documentary projects, portraits, and reportage. Since 2019, she has also been writing articles, film reviews, and interviews, among others for ak – analyse & kritik and Missy Magazine.
